Mat Kearney released a song today that he wrote about my alma mater- so cool! He played up at St. John’s/St. Ben’s a few weeks ago and was so inspired by the community and campus (who isn’t really!) that he wrote this song on the drive back to the Cities on 94. He recorded it the next day as a thank you for, as he wrote, “the most energetic acoustic show I have ever played.” I love the mentions of Sal’s (best bar in St. Joe!), Lake Sagatagen and the Chapel Walk. Brings back such great memories.
The timing of this release couldn’t have been better because I am heading up to CSB/SJU tomorrow for my sister’s graduation. A kid from my family has been enrolled at CSB/SJU every year for the past 10 years and it all ends tomorrow. A decade of Bennies and Johnnies.
